First Lamb to The Slaughter

Through mixed media, my work seeks to talk about individuals suffering under abortion laws in America. This piece was made in honor of the first person arrested in Texas under the “Witch Hunt” abortion law. Branded with her initials, the chair and steak burned at the bottom showing the fire already lit. Hangers stabbed into the seat and a bonnet hanging from the steak display the dangerous reality created. The Texas law is nailed to the chair with a rail spike.
