Textiles
My textile work focuses on fiber reactive dyes, repeat patterns, and garments. There are 7 different repeat patterns displayed above, each designed in Photoshop. I also have extensive work in acrylic extender printing, discharge dye, indigo dye, and rust dye.
Weaving
The work I have created in weaving has focused on brocade work with various inlay designs. I have also had the chance to design a 24 harness pattern using computer software. Then I was able to use a computer-assisted loom to weave my design, seen in the photos above.
Photography
I have extensive experience in photography and photoshop. I was given the chance to study photography at Santa Reparata International School Of Art in Florence Itlay. I have also photographed for the Student Experimental Theater Organization at the Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville.
Charcoal and Ink Drawings
My work in drawing focuses on the human figure. I use a mix of charcoal and ink in most of my draws to help create depth and shades in the various scenes.
Sculpture
I have begun to work in sculpture to enhance my work in textiles. The sculpture work so far has revolved around the human figure and how it interacts with the fabrics. So far I have used sculpture to replace a human figure in a work. I hope to expand upon this work in the future.
